Podcast Episode #25 Puna-nder e detyre si ne kohen e Enverit? Miqesisht, Elida

Ata duan veprime, jo fjalë boshe pa vepra,
Me pak fjalë ata duan: PUNA ME DINJITET SI TË GJITHË EUROPIANET

What do students really want in their protest, yes, and those who are passive protesters?

If one reads within the lines of the requests and during their conversations (as informal representatives of the big group, but very vocal and well-articulated) they will understand these:

They want to live better

They want to learn in good conditions

They want to work in good conditions and possibly in the profession of their studies

They want a future like the whole of Europe.

They want actions, not empty words without deeds,

They want to build and have a life with dignity, with decent pay, no peanuts

They want to succeed and be perceived as successful

And what exactly are they do, they want as the students of Tetovo wrote yesterday in a gathering of solidarity with the students of Tirana: “waiting for the conditions to improve, our desires got rotten”

In a few words they want: A WORK WITH DIGNITY AS ALL THE EUROPEANS

What are the relevant work patterns and heroes of the country where this generation is being raised and educated, and what are the work models and the heroes of Europe?

I think there are some clichés nourished by:

  • The torn labor market in these 30 years of transition that came
  • After very controversial mass experimentation of communism of 50 years before the transition.

I believe that in these past decades, almost a century, and the thoughts that are embedded in our heads as truth can be very controversial. Allow me to share some ideas as I understand the truth about the work as per what the youngsters say these days in the protest, nervous or not nervous, in the television studios or in the streets or auditorium meetings with the prime minister, where the different style of communication of the two parties was striking.

For example, talking about the job and how the work is done, I can understand Mr. Edi Rama as a person to use any means of communication when speaking, but when he puts on the cap of the Albanian Prime Minister, I think there is no place for irony or arrogance though sometimes his patience is put by some people in a very trying position. At the end of the day, the people facing him are the ones who have chosen him to serve them.

If he as a person, regardless of his sincere intention to resolve the issues/requests raised through a dialogue, does not have the skills of communication with the students, perhaps he is not the one who has to do this part of the work of the prime minister’s office, and he sends someone  distinguished for active listening, equipped with what it takes to not add to the problems that are for solution in dialogue. We are talking about his work as a job description, no matter which position it is, this is a model that is being created and put in front of this young generation to follow…
