Browse the questions below or send your own. Because sometimes one good question can change the way you see the whole situation.
1. LEADERSHIP
Elida, I am a good manager, but I don't feel like a real leader. What am I missing?
A manager can get things done through responsibility and control. A leader creates clarity, ownership and results through other people. The shift begins when you stop asking, “How do I do this?” and start asking, “How do I make the team capable of doing this without me?”
Elida, how do I become a leader without losing who I am?
You do not need to become someone else to become a leader. You need to become more intentional about how you use your strengths. Leadership transformation is not about creating a new personality; it is about developing the capacity your new role requires.
Why do I feel that everything in my team still depends on me?
Usually, because the system has learned to depend on you. If every decision comes back to the leader, the problem is not only the people—it is also the leadership system. Clear expectations, authority, accountability and coaching /mentoring (as opposed to delegation) have to replace personal dependence.
How can I coach without feeling that I have to check everything?
I, as Elida do not believe in the term ‘Delegation’. Instead I trust ‘Coaching” is the right course. It requires more than assigning a task. Define the result, the authority, the boundaries and the moment when you will review progress. Then allow the person to own the work. To grow towards the position and the required tasks. If you continue to take the work back, you are teaching the team not to own it.
What is the biggest leadership mistake you see?
One of the biggest is confusing being busy with being effective. Leaders can become the most hardworking person in the organization and still fail to build a team that can perform without them. Your job changes as your responsibility grows.
2. CEOs & EXECUTIVES
I am a CEO and my company has grown, but I haven't changed with it. What should I do?
Recognize that the role has changed. The behaviors that helped you build the first stage may not be the behaviors needed for the next one. You have to move from operator to leader of the system: clearer priorities, stronger coaching/mentoring (as opposed to delegation) system, better decisions and leadership through others.
How do I know when I need executive coaching?
When the challenge is no longer simply “What should I do?” but “How do I need to think, lead or behave differently to create the result I want?” Coaching is especially valuable during growth, transition, difficult decisions or a significant change in responsibility.
Why do successful executives sometimes feel stuck?
Success can make old patterns harder to see because they have worked before. The next level often requires something different—not more effort, but a different way of thinking, deciding, communicating and leading.
What should a CEO work on with a coach?
Work on the issue that has the greatest leverage: leadership identity, strategic priorities, decision-making, building the coaching/mentoring system (as opposed to the ‘delegation’ term), communication, team performance, accountability or the professional goal that is currently defining your next chapter. Quite often an executive coach gives you the ‘know-how’ and the ready systems to implement the building of the senior staff and the talents of the company.
How do I move from being the person who solves everything to the person who leads?
Start by identifying what only you can do. Everything else should be examined: Can someone else own it? Can the process be improved? Can the decision be coachd? Leadership begins when your value is no longer measured by how many problems you personally solve.
3. CAREER & PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
Elida, how do I know if I am in the right career?
Do not ask only, “Am I good at this?” Ask: “Does this work use my strengths, create the kind of future I want, and give me a reason to keep growing?” The right career is not necessarily the easiest one; it is one that creates meaningful alignment between capability, contribution and direction.
I want to change careers, but I am afraid of making the wrong decision. What do I do?
Do not demand certainty before you act. Gather evidence. Test the direction through conversations, small projects, learning and real exposure. A good decision is not always a decision made with complete certainty; it is a decision supported by enough evidence and followed by action.
Why do I know what I should do but keep postponing it?
Because knowing and doing are different capabilities. Sometimes the obstacle is fear, sometimes lack of clarity, sometimes an action that is simply too vague. Make the goal concrete, communicate it and define the next massive action. That is where ACTS becomes useful.
How do I define a professional goal that is actually meaningful?
Start with the result, not the activity. “I want to work harder” is not a goal. “I want to move into an executive leadership role by…” is much clearer. Then ask why that result matters and what must change for you to achieve it.
I feel successful on paper but unhappy inside. What should I look at?
Look beyond achievement. Ask what your success is actually producing in your life. Achievement without meaning can become another form of exhaustion. The question is not only “What have I achieved?” but “What am I building, and is it still what I want?”
4. COACHING
What actually happens in a coaching session with you?
We start with what matters now. We clarify the situation, challenge assumptions, identify what is really at stake and move toward a decision or action. I do not want a client to leave with only an interesting conversation. I want them to leave clearer about what they will do next.
What is the difference between coaching and consulting?
Consulting brings expertise and recommendations to a problem. Coaching works primarily with the client’s thinking, choices and ownership. In some situations, both are valuable. The important thing is to know which one the situation actually requires.
What is Coaching M’eliden?
Coaching M’eliden is my signature transformational coaching methodology. It is built around a practical movement from clarity to communication to action. It helps people define what they really want, understand what is in the way and turn intention into execution.
Who is Coaching M’eliden for?
For people who are ready to take ownership of their next level—leaders, executives, entrepreneurs and professionals who do not simply want more information, but want to create a real change.
What if I don't know what my goal is yet?
Then that can be the starting point. You do not need to arrive at coaching with a perfectly formulated goal. Sometimes the first piece of work is discovering what you actually want and separating it from what you think you should want.
5. ACTS
Elida, what exactly is ACTS?
ACTS is one of the core structures I use to move from intention to execution: Articulate, Communicate, Take Massive ActionS. First make the goal clear. Then communicate it. Then act—deliberately, consistently and massively.
Why do you emphasize massive action?
Because a meaningful goal usually requires more than occasional effort. Massive action does not mean chaotic action or burnout. It means enough intentional action to create movement and evidence that the goal is becoming real.
What does “Articulate” really mean?
It means being able to say clearly what you want. Many people have wishes, frustrations and ideas, but not a clearly articulated goal. Until you can put it into words, it is difficult to communicate, measure or act on it.
Why is communication part of achieving a goal?
Because important goals rarely happen in isolation. Other people need to understand them, support them, collaborate with them or be affected by them. What is not communicated clearly often remains only an intention.
Can ACTS be used outside coaching?
Absolutely. ACTS is useful whenever you need to move something from an idea to execution: a career goal, a business project, a leadership priority, a personal commitment or an organizational initiative.
6. HR
Elida, how can HR become a true business partner?
HR becomes strategic when it understands the business as well as the people. It needs to connect talent, leadership, capability and employee experience to measurable business needs rather than operating only as an administrative function.
Why do good employees leave?
There is no single answer. People may leave because of leadership, lack of growth, poor management, unclear expectations, compensation, culture or simply because the organization no longer fits their direction. The first step is to understand the real reason rather than assuming one.
How can HR help managers become better people leaders?
Give managers practical tools, clear expectations and development—not just policies. Managers need to know how to communicate, coach, give feedback, handle difficult conversations and create accountability. HR can become the partner that helps them do that.
What is ILoveHR?
ILoveHR is an EMI-CC professional development platform and program focused on making HR more practical, strategic and connected to business results.
What is the biggest HR opportunity today?
To move beyond being the department that manages people processes and become the function that helps the organization build the leadership, capability and culture it needs for its strategy.
7. YOUNG PEOPLE & UNIVERSITY
Should my child go to university?
My answer is: yes—but only if university adds value. University should not be a parking place for four years. The right question is not simply “Should they go?” but “What will this education give them that is worth the investment of time and money?”
How do I help my child choose the right university?
Start with the person, not the university. What are their strengths? What kind of work interests them? What skills will the field require in an AI-driven world? What opportunities, networks, experiences and employability will the university actually provide?
How does AI change the way young people should choose a career?
AI changes the value of many tasks, so young people need to think beyond a job title. They should develop capabilities that remain valuable: critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, adaptability, judgment, collaboration and the ability to work with technology.
What if my child doesn't know what they want to study?
Do not force a premature answer simply because everyone expects one. Help them explore. Conversations, internships, projects, volunteering, university visits and exposure to real work can produce better information than guessing from a list of majors.
What should parents ask before paying for a university?
Ask: What will my child actually learn? What experience will they gain? What network will they build? What opportunities will open? How will the university improve employability? And finally: does the value justify the investment?
8. ENTREPRENEURSHIP & BUSINESS
I have many ideas. How do I know which one to pursue?
Do not choose only by excitement. Look at the problem, the value you can create, the resources required, the evidence of demand and the opportunity to execute. Then choose one and test it instead of keeping ten ideas alive in your head.
Why do entrepreneurs get stuck even when they are talented?
Talent is not the same as execution. Entrepreneurs can become trapped in too many priorities, perfectionism, fear of failure or constantly changing direction. Clarity and disciplined action are often more valuable than another brilliant idea.
How do I know whether I should build a business or stay employed?
Ask what you are really seeking. Is it freedom, income, impact, learning, ownership or something else? Then compare the realities—not the fantasy—of each path. You can also test entrepreneurship through a controlled project before making a full transition.
What is the difference between a business goal and a professional goal?
A business goal describes a result for the organization—growth, revenue, clients, market expansion or another measurable outcome. A professional goal describes the person you are becoming and the role or capability you want to develop. Strong leaders connect the two.
How do I stop working in my business and start working on it?
Create space for strategic thinking and stop allowing every operational issue to consume your time. Define what only you can do, build people and systems around the rest, and protect time for the future rather than spending all your time fixing today.
9. PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION
Why do I keep repeating the same pattern even though I understand it?
Understanding a pattern is not the same as changing it. Change requires a different decision followed by different behavior. Sometimes you need to stop analyzing the old pattern and create evidence of the new one through action.
How do I build trust in myself?
Keep promises to yourself. Start with small commitments that matter, do what you said you would do, review the result and increase the level of responsibility. Self-trust grows through evidence—not through positive thinking alone.
What if I am afraid to make a big change?
Fear does not automatically mean that the change is wrong. It may simply mean that the change matters. The goal is not to eliminate fear before acting; it is to understand the risk, make an informed decision and act responsibly.
How do I know when it is time to let something go?
Ask whether it still serves the direction you have chosen. Sometimes persistence is strength; sometimes continuing is simply refusing to accept that the situation has changed. Clarity about the future helps you decide what deserves to continue.
What does transformation mean to you?
Transformation means becoming capable of creating a different result because something fundamental has changed in the way you think, decide, communicate or act. It is not simply feeling different. It is living and working differently.
10. EMI-CC, ELIDA & NEXT STEP
Why should I work with Elida?
Because the work is designed to be both challenging and practical. My role is not to tell you what you want to hear. It is to help you see more clearly, ask better questions, make stronger decisions and turn those decisions into action.
What happens in the first conversation with EMI-CC?
We look at your situation, your desired result and what is currently preventing progress. The purpose is not to force you into a program. It is to understand whether there is a meaningful fit and what kind of support would actually help.
How do I know which EMI-CC program is right for me?
Start with the result you want. If you need individual transformation, coaching may be the right path. If you are developing leadership capability, an executive or leadership program may fit. If the challenge is organizational or HR-related, consulting or ILoveHR may be more appropriate.
Can I work with EMI-CC if I am outside Albania?
Yes. EMI-CC works with clients internationally and online. The work is not limited by geography when the objective, commitment and working format are right.
Where can I learn more about Elida's work?
The EMI-CC website is the central place to explore the programs, books, methodologies, events and ways of working with Elida. You can also follow the official EMI-CC content and conversations across its communication channels.
